Hey guys sooooo we did an awesome bridal show in Pineville, LA on January 11, the Winter Wonderland Bridal Expo, and it was a huge success. Here are a few pictures of our booth setup.
Some of the most popular items were the paper bouquets. Did you say paper? Why YES, yes I did. Paper bouquets are beautiful, eco-friendly and you truly have no limitations on color combination and size. In addition they are much more inexpensive than real flowers and they won’t die and less inexpensive than artificial flowers. We got tons of wows and that’s so cool’s so I think they liked them 😉 Here are some up close pics

The other big “oooooo pretty” thing was our canvas guestbooks. These are actually “completed” ones from my own wedding. Awesome idea to really SEE who all was at your wedding, plus you will get hilarious doodles and sweet wishes. I hang ours above our bed, or it could can be done in colors to match a rooms decor or your wedding colors.
More pics and fun lovin to follow, just wanted to get you updated.
MM is also offering a sale to all of the brides that attended this show. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make an order and make sure to keep an eye on our FB page for our next giveaway!
Sooooo it’s been 25 dog years since I made a post and Mimi is about to murderize me. Like for real. So here we go with getting back on track officially. In my own defense I had a little event that took up quite a lot of my time.
I GOT MARRIED!!
WHOOP WHOOP!! Yep November 2nd my sweet thangs and I tied the knot and the power of three became the power of four and it was amazing. Absolutely A. MAY. ZING! Humongous thanks to Mimi (my Mommy) for making my wedding unbelievable and beautiful.
I’m going to share some of the neat ideas we came up with and some of the amazing ideas that we are using now for a lot of other weddings we are working on now. Don’t give up on us we are rocking and rolling some awesome projects out as we speak!
One of Mimi’s most talked about and most loved products is her original design of the Creole Style Natchitoches Meat pies. And they are soooo cute!! She makes as both an ornament and a magnet so you can enjoy them (at least looking at them) all the time. No frying involved! These make absolutely adorb’ gifts for friends and family especially those coming to visit our popular little hometown.
So for my non Louisianians, a meat pie is a Southern delicacy. Originally a fusion of Native American and Spanish foods the meat pie was born. Creole style meat pies are traditionally made with a half and half pork and beef mixture with onion, bell pepper and other tasty seasonings in a flaky crust like a half moon. Some Creole communities would fry theirs, some would bake them and everybody lays claim to having the best around.
Anyone that visits Natchitoches always wants a meat pie and to go to one of our drive through liquor stores but that’s a whole other post! So the amazing Mimi came up with this cute meat pie design. She is absolutely swamped with others for these right now and we will let you know as soon as we have them posted in our shop! Hope you enjoy and share away. Have a fantastic day!
Well holy moly I’m getting this train a chuggin now! Got our Facebook page up and going, please like away my little mags if you will you can conveniently click the little F on the right hand side thank you very much. It has been a very long few weeks brainstorming ideas, looking at inception, worrying, staying up all night, you know the drill. But I’m super happy. I will tell you all about a superfantastical graphic designer that did our header and other branding things tomorrow. She’s awesome, like my new best friend, that I give money too. lol! But, seriously she’s great at what she does can’t wait for you to meet her. Posted some things from our Greek line today. Yep calling all greek organizations we can put your letters on just about ANYTHING. Spread the word and all that stuff. Ready to get Mimi’s Magnolias rockin and rolling and start getting mad crazy hot glue and glitterball style! Honestly I have had my Mom so crazy busy making a million things for my wedding (hee hee). So loads of tutorials and coolness to come just a little holla to get back rollin. Here is a pic of a finished “table vignette”, I’m fancy huh? You know I am! Oh look it’s me and sweet baby thangs 🙂
So being that I am getting married in seven short months it is wedding central around these parts! Mimi, is in a craft whirlwind and the glitter is flying I tell you. We call her “glitterball” because no matter what she’s working on she has glitter on her….like always. Anywho, a lot of the posts over the next seven months will be snazzy tutorials on the awesomeness she’s making and yes my little budding maggies lots of it will be for sale in our handy dandy Etsy shop.
My wedding theme, and yes I have a theme, I couldn’t just stick to a color, is Organic Louisiana. Let’s all sigh and think Louisiana, iced tea, squeaky front porch floorboards, fields and fields of blooming cotton and burlap wrapped bales. And of course I will honor our fleur de lis and last but not least my magnolias. Here is a peek at the overall theme and it is ALL diy, handmade wonderfulness. Stay tuned for posts on how the heck she made all of this. And I will introduce you to my sweet baby thangs too 🙂
Sidenote: that picture was taken by my sister, super photographer, more of her photography to come!

Bonjour! Welcome to Mimi’s Magnolias! “Mimi” is my Mom the greatest woman on the planet! No really she is. Mimi, has been crafting, sewing, crocheting, decoupaging and burning her fingerprints off FOREVER! She is originally from Los Angeles and would make her weekend trip to Moskatel’s in L.A. long before we were spoiled by Hobby Lobby and Michaels. She makes some of the coolest things and just lately has been doing papercrafting, wedding invitations, wedding centerpieces, bouquets and lots more, mostly because this particular magnolia is GETTING MARRIED!
We are going to share with you some of the cool things she’s making for my wedding, along with gorgeous photography by one of her other magnolias, her other daughter Teresa. I’ll share my crafts, art and fashion and daily babble to keep you laughing and coming back for more. Share us and be a magnolia!!! Live to create!!
